Poster Challenge Returns

Attention all health, science and art teachers in Southwestern PA! Keep an eye out for a postcard announcement of an exciting opportunity coming your way very soon. PRC is pleased to partner once again with the Southwest PA Air Quality Partnership (SPAQP) to offer the 2nd annual "Let's Clear the Air" Poster Challenge.

Prizes include bicycles for the winning artists, cash for school supplies for sponsoring teachers and Magic Shows for the schools. The first 50 teachers to register receive a free kit with lesson plans and hands-on activities related to air quality - a hot topic in this region!

Steelers Fans Cheer For Recycling

PRC's 2011 "Let's Tackle Recycling" campaign started tailgating recycling at the Steelers' first regular season home game with a strong offensive drive! Over one and a half tons of aluminum cans, glass bottles and cardboard was generated by revelers there to see the Steelers dismantle the Seahawks.

Edgmont Farmers' Market
Continues Until October 27

Every Thursday, from 3-7 PM, PRC East is transformed into a thriving Farmers' Market. Each week features new vendors and lots of fresh local produce and fruits from neighboring farmers.

ELECTRONIC RECYCLING EVENT UPDATE: on September 22 PRC east held its first electronic recycling event at the Edgmont Farmers' Market. Over 100 residents dropped off enough televisions, monitors, CPUs and assorted peripherals to fill a 40 yard roll off container! All the material collected will be responsibly recycled by MPC of Philadelphia. We'll share the final numbers with you as soon as we receive them from MPC. The next event is scheduled for two days-Sept. 30 and Oct. 1- in Lansdowne.

October Volunteer Opportunities
