    [...] Jobs & Internships At Pittsburgh’s CW [...]

  • Erica Mokay

I would 100% recommend an internship at KDKA or the CW. I was an intern for the assignment desk at KDKA during the summer of 2011 and it was the best internship I could possibly ask for. As a television journalism major at West Virginia University, I am constantly told how important internships are for experience and for a resume builder. Even if you are not interested in being a news reporter, there are so many jobs in the television industry and this internship is an ideal way to get exposure to those jobs! If you are serious about having a successful future in television, what better way than to learn from the best! Pittsburgh is a top 23 television market and I believe KDKA is number 1 in that market compared to the competition. I learned so much and met so many fantastic people during my internship! In fact, thanks to my internship with KDKA, I was picked to be a member of the Pittsburgh CW Green Team! I am proof that an internship CAN lead to an AWESOME job! I consider KDKA/ The CW my family and I am forever grateful for all of the opportunities and experiences this internship has given me. I sincerely mean that this is a FANTASTIC internship. I cannot stress it enough– if you want to be successful in television, you MUST do internships and from personal experience, KDKA/ The CW are the PERFECT PLACE for an internship. Since my time at KDKA and The CW, I have moved on to a new job in television and several of the people I work with now have had internships with KDKA and have all had the same positive experience!
