The Next: Fame is at Your Doorstep

The Next moves from city to city, each one an iconic, sonic hot spot —Orlando, Baltimore, Dallas, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. Each episode, our four recurring Superstar Icons, Gloria Estefan, John Rich, Nelly, and Joe Jonas will drop in on the lives of four different Contestants — local musical heroes with not just a buzz on the scene, but rather a huge regional following of devoted fans. Each has a formidable social media presence on Twitter and Facebook. Some have weekly residencies at the hottest clubs; others have performed in the opening slot at stadium-sized concerts.  Simply put, unlike every other music show out there, our aspiring stars are not plucked from obscurity. They are established and proven, and are on the brink of success. They just need a little help getting over that hump, breaking through, and going from opening act to headliner.

Over the course of 72-hours, each Icon will groom one Contestant — while living with them. It's one thing to work with a superstar in the studio. It's another to have him or her on your couch…cooking breakfast with you…tagging along to your office…hanging with you at your local karaoke dive bar.  Whatever the situation, our icons will have to be prepared, because the clock is ticking.

When that 72-hour period is up, the four newly groomed artists will go head-to-head at an iconic local venue. The packed audience will be filled with friends and family, as well as hundreds of local music fans. Since they've already established themselves on the local music scene, each Contestant has their own throng of local groupies and cheerleaders.

One winner will be chosen and that contestant will move on to represent their city in the semi-finals.. Then it's on to the next city for four more contestants. 

After six episodes, in six different cities, each of our six local winners will battle it out LIVE on stage each week. Over the course of the next three LIVE episodes,Americawill vote for their favorites, whittling down our semi-finalists until only one Contestant remains — the vocalist standing last will be rewarded a recording contract with Atlantic Records.
