100,000 Water Balloons. 3,000 People. 4 Bands. 1 Day.

What's the only thing cooler than a water balloon fight in downtown Pittsburgh in the heart of the summer?
A water balloon fight in downtown Pittsburgh in the heart of the summer that fights global poverty.

The inaugural Great American Water Balloon Fight was held on Saturday July 21st, 2012 at PointState Park to support Team Tassy and their work with the poor in Haiti.

Founded in Pittsburgh in 2010 after meeting a kid (Tassy) in Port-au-Prince who, because he was born in Haiti, didn't have access to the medical care he needed to remove a fatal tumor.

"Our development philosophy is straightforward. Health and education are human rights, and by connecting the poor with the resources they need to put themselves to work, we can not only restore family incomes, but dignity. We decided to ask the poor what it was that they needed, and accompany their climb out of poverty rather than dictate it to them."

"The money you help us raise by something as simple as throwing water balloons will change peoples lives."
