Kennywood’s Phantom Fright Nights prepares to unleash its reign of terror!
West Mifflin, PA —With the summer season behind us, Kennywood is about to finish its transformation into Phantom Fright Nights, a horrifying success over the past 10 seasons. Phantom Fright Nights opens Friday, September 27 and continues Friday and Saturday evenings through Oct 26 from 7 PM to 1AM. A bonus night, Sunday, October 13, is open from 7 PM to 11 PM.
“Our guests come back year after year because we offer something different compared to your average haunted house,” explains Marie Ruby, Director of Ride Operations and the mastermind behind Phantom Fright Nights. “We offer an experience that shrouds the entire park in Halloween fear and sustains that feeling from the moment you arrive until the moment you try to leave!”
A total of 18 thrill rides and ten walk-through haunts and scare zones transform Kennywood into its sinister alter ego through tremendous attention to frightful detail including 1,000 gallons of fog fluid for 50 fog machines, more then 10,000 light bulbs changed by hand to Halloween colors and more then 300 ghouls, vampires and other creatures. We are not the only ones who think Kennywood Phantom Fright Nights is a horrifying success.
Amusement industry publication Amusement Today has taken notice of that attention to detail and named Phantom Fright Night One of the Best Halloween Events by the annual Golden Ticket Awards readers’ poll!
In addition, Kennywood’s classic Noah’s Ark received top honors for the fourth year in a row with a Golden Ticket Award for the Best Walk-Through Attraction in the World! Of course, Noah’s Ark will undergo a chilling transformation for Phantom Fright Nights and leave you looking over your shoulder at every turn, but the scares don’t end there.
Guests are soon seduced into any of ten haunts and scare zones including Biofear, Villa of the Vampires, Kennyville Cemetery, Mortem Manor and Voodoo Bayou, just to name a few. Thrill rides, roller coasters and ghoulishly delicious food only enhance the Phantom Fright Nights experience.
Phantom Fright Nights take place every Friday and Saturday night from September 27 through October 26 from 7 PM to 1 AM, plus a bonus night: Sunday, October 13 from 7 PM to 11 PM. Tickets are $29.99 (plus $1 amusement tax) at the gate or $26.99 at participating Giant Eagle locations. Group Rates are also available; call 412.464.9931 to make a reservation.
No food or beverages may be brought into the park during Phantom Fright Nights. Halloween masks, make-up, or costumes are not permitted. Phantom Fright Nights is not recommended for children under 13 years of age.
