Police: Woman Yells Obscenities, Throws Coffee During Cheerleading Tryouts Dispute

NEW BRIGHTON (KDKA) — A woman is facing charges after she got into a heated fight with a parent during cheerleading tryouts at a Beaver County high school, and then poured coffee on the person who tried to break up the dispute.

According to police, 22-year-old Kailyn Boring is facing disorderly conduct and harassment charges in the Saturday morning incident at New Brighton High School.

Officers were called just before 11 a.m.

It all started outside of the gymnasium area when the mother of one of the girls who did not make the team walked out because she was upset, police said.

Investigators say Boring, the family member of another girl who tried out for the squad, is accused of confronting the mother and a verbal argument quickly escalated.

Police say Boring is accused of yelling obscenities, behaving violently and following the woman back into the gym where she's accused of throwing coffee on one of the cheerleading squad's advisers who tried to break up the dispute.

A family member was able to escort her away.
