How Do YOU Feel About The Victoria's Secret 'Perfect Body' Ad?

Victoria's Secret is facing criticism for a new ad featuring a very questionable tagline.

'The Perfect "Body"' tag pokes at the double entendre in the word 'body' to both describe the bras and the pictured models' "perfect" figures. But to many, this sentence says a disturbing mouthful. The women pictured, while still beautiful, are very thin and probably Photoshopped. However, the tagline boasts that these women have the perfect body… cue the angry social media posts!

Many have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions against the ad.

Some, on the other hand, are defending the ad and the models pictured.

This is a tricky one and I think this issue has two sides. Some women look like these models and are happy with their bodies, as they should be. But, I feel that an ad like this can create body issues and promote body shaming toward women who don't look like these models.

But Victoria's Secret is infamous for that. Every ad, every catalog and every store promotes extremely thin women as the beauty standard. Am I annoyed by the ad? Yes. Am I surprised? Not at all.

So what's your opinion? Is Victoria's Secret wrong for promoting an unhealthy body standard? Or should we accept that the bodies pictured truthfully are real? You decide.
