Movie Review: Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Like a fine wine, Tom Cruise seems to be getting better with age.

The same can be said with the Mission Impossible franchise, Rogue Nation just might be the best of the entire series.

From the opening sequence, the entire film is non-stop action, filled with jaw-dropping stunts.

The 5th installment of the series finds the IMF shut down, and Ethan Hunt on the run.

Each of the Mission Impossible films has featured a new director, and Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher, The Usual Suspects) doesn't disappoint.

McQuarrie definitely has a knack for action sequences, which makes him a perfect fit for Rogue Nation.

The special effect are incredible -- especially on an IMAX screen, and there's just enough comedy thrown in to keep things light-hearted.

Add in the rest of the cast, including Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Rebecca Ferguson and you have all the makings of a blockbuster.

Baldwin is a great addition to the film as CIA Chief.

The formula remains the same as the previous Mission Impossible movies: action, chases, close calls, a few miss-steps, and some comedy.

That being said, I think Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation is my favorite of the entire series.

I won't be the first, (or last) to compare films, but the latest installment of Mission Impossible is Bond meets Bourne, and the magic created is Rogue Nation.

It's a very fun way to spend a couple hours, and you won't be disappointed.

Overall I give Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation a solid A.

You'll get sucked in (literally).
