Dinner and a show; it’s a classic date night. Perhaps you have the perfect show to see, but aren’t quite sure on the dinner part. If you are headed out to a show in Pittsburgh and looking to grab a casual bite, have a nice dinner or go all out to impress, here are some great places to try. You and your date will enjoy the show much better on a full stomach.

If you are headed to see a show at the First Niagara Pavilion from Pittsburgh, stop off in Robinson before you get on Route 22 and have a bite at Bocktown. Bocktown has an extensive selection of beer on draft and pretty much anything you would care to try available by the bottle. The menu features hand-cut fries with your choice of tasty toppings including bacon, olives, cheeses and peppers. The menu also features a wide selection of sandwiches, salads and seafood and pasta entrees. There is something for everyone to enjoy on this menu.

If you are attending a concert at Stage AE or Heinz Field, Rivertowne North Shore offers a casual atmosphere to enjoy dinner before the concert. You can enjoy an appetizer of Scotch eggs (hard-boiled eggs surrounded by deep-fried sausage) or buffalo chicken dip. For your main course, enjoy a sandwich, wrap, sub or tasty grilled pub steak, mahi mahi or chicken. End your meal with a stout beer float or dark chocolate stout bread pudding.

Primanti Brothers Restaurant
46 18th St.
Pittsburgh, PA 15222
(412) 263-2142

If you are planning to see a show at Altar Bar, you can experience Primanti Brothers in a whole new way by visiting the original location. Primanti is an especially good place if you have an out-of-town guest to have them experience this iconic Pittsburgh sandwich. You can enjoy the Pittsburgher cheese steak complete with fries and coleslaw on the sandwich, or pretty much any other meat you could want on the same Italian bread with fries and coleslaw on top. Although the sandwiches at Primanti are the main focus, the restaurant also cooks up a tasty chili and the fresh-cut fries are great on their own, too.
