All about Owls
October is all about owls at the National Aviary. Visit daily for opportunities to meet owls up-close and learn about these amazing nighttime hunters. Be the first to welcome back the Snowy Owls, “whoooo” will be on exhibit until spring 2017.
Whoooooo’s ready for Owl-o-Ween? On Saturday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 29th, wear your costume and come prepared for candy, crafts, and even a creepy crawly bug race. Enjoy close encounters and perfect photo opportunities with raptors, owls and other creatures of the night.
Happy Birthday Valentino!
Valentino, the baby sloth is turning one on the 31st and you’re invited to his very special birthday party! Both October 30th and 31st, guests will learn all about Valentino’s first year with the National Aviary,see the fuzzy birthday boy up-close, and even make him a birthday card! Grab your party hat and get ready to sing Happy Birthday!
Wings & Wildlife Opening Soirée & Benefit Auction on Friday, November 4th. JGuests will have the opportunity to mingle with the artists and see their work prior to the Show’s public debut. Throughout the evening, Aviary experiences, works of art, and other one-of-a-kind items will be up for bidding during silent and live auctions.
Wings & Wildlife Public Art Show and Marketplace will run November 5th – 6th. The 2016 Wings & Wildlife Art Show and marketplace features locally and nationally known wildlife artists working in paint, photography, jewelry, ceramics, wood, and more. Visitors will meet the artists, explore the National Aviary’s exhibits, and have the opportunity to take home original pieces of art. This year’s featured artist is Pittsburgh photographer, Dave DiCello!
